I started making this
guitar in 1989.

I wanted to make a copy of George Lynch's
Skull & Bones
J Frog guitar . This was one of the first guitars that I
made
and my first attempt to hand carve. The body is mahogany,
and the maple neck and all of the parts are from a
washburn
strat style that I specifically bought for parts.
I made a drawing of the guitar on the body
blank, then used
a router to start the 3 dimension look . Then I started
hand
carving with chisels and knives to create the effect of
the bones.
I didn't really work on the guitar steadily , and it took
about a
year for it to be finished . Joy repainted the bones in
2001 .
